The Church as a COMMUNITY

The Church as a COMMUNITY “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. Genesis 12 vs 2+3

The Church as a COMMUNITY   You are to be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own. Leviticus 20 vs 26

The Church as a COMMUNITY  “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Mathew 28 vs 18 to 20

The Church as a COMMUNITY

The Church as a COMMUNITY They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Acts 2 vs 42

The Church as a COMMUNITY All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2 vs 42 to 47

The Church as a COMMUNITY 1 Corinthians 1:9, God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Church as a COMMUNITY 2 Corinthians 13:14 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

The Church as a COMMUNITY Philippians 1vs 5  In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy  because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.

The Church as a COMMUNITY 1 Thessalonians 2:8 Just as a nursing mother cares for her children, so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.

The Church as a COMMUNITY 2 Corinthians 1:6-7 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer.  And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.

The Church as a COMMUNITY 1 Corinthians 10:16-17 Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ? 17 Because there is one loaf, we, who are many, are one body, for we all share the one loaf.

The Church as a COMMUNITY

The Church as a COMMUNITY

The Church as a COMMUNITY 1 Corinthians 12 vs 12 to 14 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.

The Church as a COMMUNITY Galatians 6:9-10   Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
