Homecare Training Benefit/ 1199SEIU Training & Upgrading Fund Joint Labor-Management Workforce Entity Funded through negotiated contributions 300,000 workers in MA, NY, MD, DC, NJ and FL (homecare, hospital, health center, LTC) Range of programs – skills training, adult education through post-secondary 40 employers, 45,000 workers, enroll 10,000/year

Homecare Training Benefit -- Process Labor-Management Committee Oversight ID common skill goals/needs of PCAs & consumers (needs assessment-2012) Workshops & Training, New Hire Orientation Statewide infrastructure/call center operation Programs offered 6 days/week, 23 locations, 19 languages, 17 facilitators

Homecare Training Benefit -- Programs Skills Workshops (stakeholder curriculum engagement) – Fall 2012 Adult Education Courses - (English and Computers) – Spring 2013 Tuition and C.N.A. Vouchers – Summer 2013 New Hire Orientation – Spring 2014

Homecare Training Benefit – Skills Training Skills Training (Dementia, CPR, Nutrition, Medication Safety, Blood Borne Pathogens, Communications, Body Mechanics) 5500+ enrollments & 800+ sessions English & Computers 1000+ enrollments Tuition Vouchers - 284 PCAs C.N.A. Vouchers - 345 PCAs 97% of attendees report ‘training will assist me in my job’

Homecare Training Benefit – Group Taught Orientation 3 hour mandatory, paid, new hire orientation FY17 -- enrolled 7070 PCAs in 557 sessions, statewide 91% of attendees responded ‘Orientation gave me more confidence’
