Calculations in mathematics mental methods informal jottings/ methods formal written methods.

Expectation: By end of year 4 know 12 x 12 times tables Written methods in addition and subtraction Use formal short multiplication and division By end of year 6 Be fluent in all four written method, including long multiplication and division, working with fractions and decimals Apply multiplication facts to work out unknown facts eg: 0.3 x 0.4 etc
