KS4 Science revision *Follow the science revision timetables and use these alongside the OCR gateway science revision guides. *Use BBC bitesize GCSE OCR gateway to support your revision and completion of your weekly revision homework. *Use active revision (not copying or reading). 20 minutes review and then 20 minutes questions/keywords/write out what you can remember. *Use a keyword to start a mind map and then from memory add detail and then use revision books to add even more detail. *Practise answering questions on the VLE – do this from memory first, then with a revision guide. Check your work with the mark scheme and improve your answers. *Take care analysing tables and graphs. Practise these questions. *Be specific in your answers – don’t us the word ‘It’ to start to answer a question

KS3 Science revision strategy Units are delivered in 6 week blocks. Lesson 10 of every block focuses on developing revision strategies. Each block will provide the opportunity to try a different approach to revision (linked to learning style). Try a range of ideas to see which one works best for you. Homework is set weekly and will focus on: key words from the current topic, exam style questions fact recall Resources to support revision are provided on the VLE and organised by topic. There are also links to BBC bitesize. Revising each section then completing the mini tests is a good way to check understanding. Your teacher with provide colour coded checklists and these should be used to help identify areas for review/revision. Blue statements are aimed at targets 1-3 Yellow statements are aimed at 4-6 Green statements are aimed at 7-9
