Pomo By Nathan

Location The Pomo lived in the Northwestern part of California. They live from the Pacific ocean inland to Clear Lake. The climate area is cool and wet. In one area there would be 7 different villages.

Shelter The homes of the Pomo tribe protected them from the environment. There are 7 types of homes built by the Pomo. The Pomo made their house by putting dry grasses supported by bent poles. Seven families shared a house.

Food They gathered plants such as seeds, nuts, and berries. The Pomo used deer masks to catch deer. They hunted deer, elk, antelope, rabbit squirrel and smoke bird. For hunting they used bow and arrow, heavy spears and clubs. q

Culture They had lots of dances after feasts. They have lots of ghost dances where they acted as the dead. The Pomo made feather baskets. The Pomo also made beautiful jewelry.
