NASA InSight Mission’s “Vital Signs of the Planet” A Professional Development Program for Science Educators Can students make inferences regarding tectonics on Mars from what is known about the Earth? On March 28, 2014, a magnitude 5.1 earthquake captured by six Southern California partner schools Quake Catcher Seismograms. Dr. Robert DeGroot, Southern Cal Earthquake Center: "This is event-based science at its best!" Images: Quake Catcher Network seismometers at six partner schools captured the March 28, 2014, magnitude 5.1 earthquake, and aftershocks.
