What to expect at Relay In November, your American Cancer Society Board of Directors approved an updated, simple, and powerful mission statement that will help articulate the direction and focus for our organization. It’s action-oriented, concise, and memorable. It focuses on what we do – not how we do it: “The American Cancer Society’s mission is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.” That new mission statement is exactly the sort of bold approach we expect the new ACS to take. Most importantly, while our mission is now simply stated, our purpose remains the same. This statement reflects the fact that the new American Cancer Society will be better positioned to deliver on this mission. Our strategic planning work is preparing us to lead the cancer fight in a whole new way.

Team Captain What does it mean to be a team captain? Register your team on relayforlife.org/kamehameha Coach and motivate team members to participate and fundraise Organize and delegate team’s fundraising/ logistics Encourage and recruit more people to join Come to Team Captain meetings Communicate with all team members Spread the word of Relay! We have provided team resources today and if you need anything else, Maile will be your liaison.

Survivors & Caregivers Help us get survivors and caregivers to our event! Invite your friends and family who have been touched by cancer. Register at on website, designate Survivor or Caregiver Foods, Shirt, Celebration!

Luminaria Luminaria Purchase a Luminaria bag for $10 to honor a loved one battling cancer or in memory of someone lost to cancer. Teams that sell luminaria will have that credited to their team fundraising. Pick bags up at Team Captain meetings or email patty_lei@yahoo.com.
