BUILDING A BRIDGE OF AGREEMENT OF WHO CHRIST IS Luke‬ ‭9:18-20‬ ‭CSB‬‬

“While he was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say that I am? ” They answered, “John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, that one of the ancient prophets has come back.” “But you,” he asked them, “who do you say that I am? ” Peter answered, “God’s Messiah.”” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:18-20‬ ‭CSB‬‬

Big Idea of the Series: This 4-week series communicates the importance of building bridges and relationships with each other at CrossPointe and in our community.

What's the purpose of a bridge? A bridge is a structure built to span physical obstacles without closing the way underneath such as a body of water, valley, or road, for the purpose of providing passage over the obstacle.

When Jesus asked the question WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM? It was a question inviting us into His story. It was a question inviting us into the picture of WHO HE IS. Most importantly, it was a question uniting our faith in Him.

“equipping the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ, until we all reach unity in the faith and the knowledge of God’s Son, growing into maturity with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness.”-Ephesians‬ ‭4:12-13‬ ‭CSB‬‬

“Knowing their thoughts, he told them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is headed for destruction, and no city or house divided against itself will stand. -Matthew 12:25 CSB

Big Idea of the Today’s Message: We are building a bridge of unity around the identity of who Jesus is to us.

Prayer: Father, Today we pray that You would unite us as a church in agreement of who You say that You are.

We ask that You unite us in the truth of Your Holy scriptures so that we can come to the unity of the faith and grow in the knowledge of God’s Son so that we can be mature followers of God. Let us build the bridge of unity as we declare who You are to us. In Jesus Name, Amen!

WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM?

Let us prepare for communion.
