We are not to put our trust in our own selves Proverbs 3:5 – “lean not on your own understanding” Proverbs 14:12 – “there is a way that seems right to a man” We must have an obedient attitude. Luke 1:38 – “Let it be to me according to your word”

Luke 5:8 Like Peter, we are not worthy: Romans 3:23 – “for all have sinned” We must approach God & Jesus in Humility: Luke 11:1-4 – “Hallowed be Your name” Luke 18:9-14 – “be merciful to me a sinner” I Peter 5:5-6 – “gives grace to the humble”

Luke 5:9-10 They were to go out and preach the word: Mark 3:13-15 – “send them out to preach” Matthew 28:19-20 – “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations” Mark 16:15-16 – “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature”

We are to continue this today: I Peter 3:15 – “always be ready” Acts 8:3-4 – “went everywhere preaching the word” Romans 1:15-16 – “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ”

Luke 5:11 How about us? Luke 9:57-62 – “I will follow you, but let me first” Luke 14:26-27, 33 – “forsake all that he has” Matthew 10:25-38 – “He who loves father or mother more than Me” Matthew 16:26 – “if he gains the whole world”

We are to be living sacrifices & workers for God Romans 12:1 – “present your bodies a living sacrifice” Ephesians 2:10 – “we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works”

16 Are you willing to follow Jesus?
We read of fishermen that were willing to follow Jesus and obey Him at his word. Are you willing to follow Jesus, answer His invitation, and obey Him tonight? Or will you answer Jesus, “but let me first”?

17 God’s Plan of Salvation
Hear the Word of God (Romans 10:17) Believe in Jesus (Hebrews 11:6) Repent of Sins (Acts 17:20) Confess faith in Christ (Matthew 10:32) Be Baptized in Water (Mark 16:15-16) Grow and Be Faithful (Revelations 2:10) If err, repent and pray to God (Acts 8:22)
