Listening Writing Speaking Reading Culture
Listening Students listen to Señora & to each other speak Spanish everyday: Discussions, going over homework, dialogs, presentations… They also listen to music, dialogs & exercises, podcasts, etc
Writing Students write emails and journal entries. They peer edit them, and the major grammatical problems are discussed in class They also write funny stories using picture sequences and dialogs to act out
Speaking Students speak Spanish everyday in class (85%) They act out dialogues about everyday situations Students chat at “En el Café” with guided conversations They continue acquiring idioms
Reading Students will have many opportunities to read materials from the textbook, authentic materials & current events articles They will use different techniques to read for understanding. We will discuss the materials with comprehension questions
Culture Students will be exposed to the Spanish culture through pictures, music, art work, etc They will also read newspaper articles from a variety of Spanish speaking countries. They will make Spanish food

Hispanic National Honor Society Selection for membership is reserved for our top students and is based on a variety of criteria including an A- or above in Spanish 3; a cumulative High School GPA of 3.2 or higher; and continuing to study Spanish in the 2017-2018 school year.
