4th Grade Ecosystem Project Mrs. Rickard 2010

1. The Earth’s Biomes Day 1: Today you have the important job of selecting which biome you would like to base your project on. Choose carefully because you must stick with what you choose today for the remainder of this project. We will begin by watching a movie about the Earth’s Biomes. You will then be able to read more about the biomes to help you make your decision. Once you have made your decision, you can begin your research. Any information you find on the website can be recorded on your information page. Remember to browse carefully for your biome’s… Characteristics (How would you describe it?) Location Animals that can be found there

2. The Food Chain After reviewing food chains, create a food chain that could be found in your environment. The chain must contain atleast 4 parts. You will create 1 slide for your food chain.

3. Animals Adaptations After reading about ways in which animals can adapt, you will create 1 slide about an animals that can be found in our biome. Describe how it has adapted to survive in your chosen environment.

4. www.switcheroozoo.com Now it is time to put all that you have learned together. Create your own animals at Switcheroozoo. Keep in mind that your animals must be able to survive in your biome. You must also think about where it would belong in your food chain. You will create 1 or 2 slides describing your animal.
