Visiting Schools Schedule a campus visit at least two weeks in advance for large public universities! Counselor will set up visit RHS allows seniors to take two days. Juniors may take one day. Need more days? Visit on in-service days or a half day! Tips for college visits Go in the fall of senior year Go when the college is in session Write out questions Take parents with you!

Testing - ACT Accepted at all public Kansas Colleges Take ACT in 11th grade (Spring) and 12th grade (Fall) Offered at RHS in April, June, October & December Cost: $42.50 per test ACT online Prep & booklet - Free for the asking! KSU & WSU offer a prep session each spring for 10th & 11th graders

Testing - SAT SAT I & SAT II - Required by some schools out-of-state SAT I - verbal and math test SAT II - subject tests - Biology, German, English etc. Either the SAT or ACT is required for acceptance into any four year college in Kansas

College credit at RHS Barton County Community College College Advantage/dual credit classes College Algebra, English Comp I & II, Gen Psychology, Public Speaking, and Cert Nurse Aide Taught by RHS teacher or via ITV Will transfer to all state universities in Kansas, but…… Check program requirements under “Prospective Students” Outreach (night classes) also available

College Credit at RHS AP Classes – AP Calculus, AP English & AP Government For 3-6 hours of college credit $93 per test Score 3 or higher on a scale of 1-5 Check your college for more info.

College credit 101 College credit is based on the amount of seat time for one class during one week. A three credit hour class may meet from 9-9:50am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the semester
