ASSYRIANS Empire that began, ended, then began again Controlled all of the Fertile Crescent, Egypt, and into Asia Minor Strong army (chariots and iron weapons) Ruthless in battle Capital was Ninevah People governed small areas for the emperor (collected taxes, enforced laws)
