Negatives

Rules to the Negatives A negative is a word that means “no.” Example  Nobody saw me. DO NOT use two negatives in the same sentence. This is known as double negative Correct a sentence with two negatives by changing one negative to a positive word or by dropping one negative. Example: We don’t help no one.  We don’t help anyone; We help no one.

More Notes You can correct a double negative by substituting a positive word for a negative word.
