Courses: An Overview Career Prep At the J.O.J. Law and Public Safety Magnet, students learn about the American Legal and Justice systems with hands on public speaking and mock trial experience. Courses: Career Prep Law and Society I: Criminal, Civil, Contract, Consumer Introduction to Criminal Justice Law and Society II: Constitutional Law Public Speaking Civil Liberties Forensics

Student Opportunities A background in law and the justice system can open doors to many fields within the law and beyond. Attorney (DA, defense, contract law, corporate, family, etc.) Public Law Enforcement: police, detective, security officer, correction officer, etc. Courtroom Staff: bailiff, stenographer, etc. Paralegal and Aid Political Science Research and Information Science Proficient Public Speaking And more!

Mock Trials Students in the law magnet have the opportunity to interact with local judges during yearly mock trials held in the J.O.J. Law Academy Court Room. Students become prosecutors, defense attorneys, witnesses, and more during the trial.
