2017-20 Proposal Writing Webinar November 2016

School College Work Initiative Since its inception in 1997, the SCWI has contributed to the goal of increasing the number of students who graduate from secondary school and providing a seamless transition from secondary school to postsecondary education by supporting collaborative activities and programs. 2017-20 CODE RFP, p.1

RFP: Activities and Forums Dual Credit Educator Forums which provide opportunities for both secondary school and college educators to better understand the policies and procedures of dual credit programs, and to plan for their students in these programs, and One day, hands-on college experiences for grades 7-12 students. 2017-20 CODE RFP, p.1

2017-20 priorities for Dual Credits School Within A College (SWAC) Programs programs for students in the primary target audience complete Level 1 programs with MAESD Seat Purchase for apprentices with Registered Training Agreements (RTA’s). 2017-20 RFP Apprenticeship Level 1 In-School Dual Credits Required to work with OYAP coordinators, MAESD Field Office staff, College Apprenticeship Leads in the determination of Level 1 In-School Dual Credits Students must have Registered Training Agreements to be eligible for MAESD Seat Purchase Only students in the primary target group eligible for SCWI Seat Purchase. OYAP participants are not eligible for SCWI Seat Purchase.

2017-20 RFP Apprenticeship Level 1 In-School Dual Credits MAESD Level 1 Dual Credit Seat Purchase (Confirmation of MAESD Seat Purchase Approvals for OYAP Dual Credits) Form includes instructions to Regional Office to discuss previous year’s results in order to determine appropriate number of seats to approve

2017-20 RFP Apprenticeship Level 1 In-School Dual Credits SCWI Level 1 Dual Credit Seat Purchase (Confirmation by college and board partners of request for SCWI Seat Purchase only for students in the Primary Target Group) Attestation of Training Facility for College Oversight for OYAP Dual Credit Program 2017- 18 Proposals will only be considered if forms received on time

2017-20 RFP Specialist High Skills Majors – As last year, While maintaining previous participant numbers, new programs can be proposed to replace current dual credits for SHSM students. Responds to local changes to SHSM programs RPTs will need to identify one related sector for each program designed for SHSM students. If more than one, then please list others in the Notes section of your proposal.

Guidelines for Developing Dual Credit Program Proposals For Summer School dual credits: RPTs are encouraged to submit requests for Summer School Within a College dual credit programs and stand alone dual credit programs as part of their 2017-20 proposals. In the Operational Details section of the proposal, please describe: why this delivery model has been selected rather than regular day school delivery.

5. Submission of Proposals and Deadlines RPT chairs are required to sign off on their online submissions no later than 1:00 p.m. on December 16, 2016. Also due on this date as email attachments to David Armstrong (davidarmstrong@hurontel.on.ca)

Submission of Proposals and Deadlines Also due on this date as email attachments to David Armstrong: in the case of approvals for MAESD apprenticeship seat purchases the MAESD Seat Purchase Approvals Form signed by the MAESD Service Delivery Manager. in the case of approvals for College Oversight of Level 1 apprenticeships, the Attestation of Training Facility for College Oversight for OYAP Dual Credit Program 2017-18. in the case of approvals for SCWI seat purchase, the School College Work Initiative/Dual Credits Primary Target Group - Level 1 Programs SCWI Seat Purchase Form signed by the appropriate partners.

5. Submission of Proposals and Deadlines No later than January 16, 2017 RPTs are also expected to send 3 hard copies of: the completed Signature Form, including signatures of appropriate College Presidents and Directors of Education
