Dividing decimals with decimals The number on the right goes on the outside of the division bar. Move the decimal on the outside number to the right until you get to the end of the number. Move the decimal in the number under the division bar the same number of places. Divide. The decimal point in your answer goes right above the decimal point in your dividend.
