Presentation transcript:

Utah VHF Society Frequency Coordination Repeaters are on a fixed frequency and cannot change channels. Coordination of Repeaters eliminates interference to users. Co-Channel repeaters are separated by a distance great enough to avoid interference. Utah is on a 20 khz band plan for 2 meters

Utah VHF Society Frequency Coordination Works with coordinators in adjacent States to select best repeater frequencies to avoid interference. Makes decisions about coordinating a new repeater from data that has been submitted by repeater owners of existing ones. Submits its database to the ARRL every year for the ARRL Repeater Directory.

Utah VHF Society Frequency Coordination Repeaters on High Mountain Tops are given the greatest amount of coverage area protection. Repeaters located at Valley locations are given small coverage area protection.

Utah VHF Society Frequency Coordination Frequencies not used within 6 months will be subject for reassignment

Utah VHF Society Frequency Coordination Lowest Frequency Repeater 29 Mhz 10M Highest Frequency Repeater 2.4 Ghz ATV Lowest Elevation Repeater is in St George at 2500 Ft. Highest Elevation Repeater is at Snowbird at 11,000 Ft.

Utah VHF Society Frequency Coordination Examples of Co-Channel Frequency Coordination and coverage plots A proposed repeater in the Kingman, Az area was proposed on the same frequency as one at Blowhard Mtn. east of Cedar City, Utah. It was found that there were many coverage areas that overlaped between them which would be a cause for interference to users of both repeaters.

Blowhard Utah 448.650 coverage

Kingman Arizona 448.650 coverage proposed
