Project Integrate+ in The state enterprice Forests of The Czech republic The conference "Integration of Biodiversity Enhancement in Sustainable Forest Management in the framework of EU Forestry Strategy" in Prague from 6th to 7th October 2016

Sustainable forest management Sustainable forest management as defined in Resolution H1 of the Conference on the Protection of Forests (Helsinki 1993) - Basic strategy management of The state enterprice Forests of the Czech Republic: Management and use of forests on 3 pillars: - The economic pillar support production functions of the forest as a source of wood (biomass) - a renewable resource - The social pillar promoting employment and social programs - The environmental pillar development of biodiversity, support for non-productive functions of forest

Principles of forest tending Support future wood production : optimum value and volume production of future fellable stands Support stability : stable forests resistant to biotic and abiotic influences Support for biodiversity : the preservation and further development of conditions for organisms linked to the forest environment, the development of species diversity in tree species composition

Support of Biodiversity - Support for biodiversity is an essential tool effective protection of the nature in forest   - The elementary question: How to quantify the effects of biodiversity as part of the rational management of forest? - Integrate + is possible answer: Integrative concept of preservation and development of economic production potential and to increase the environmental value of forests

Forests of the Czech republic and project Integrate+ - Active involvement in the project Integrate + in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, EFI and FMI Preparation of 4 demonstration areas in 2016, which represent the forest management of 4 basic forestry trees in their growth optimum : - spruce management in mountain locations (forest district Železná Ruda – Šumava mountains) - pine management on natural pine habitats (forest district Plasy) - the management of sessile oak (forest district Plasy) - beech management (forest district Křivoklát) - Demonstration areas are ready to use training method Marteloscop

Prospects for recovery Integrate+ in terms of The state enterprise Forests of the Czech republic - The new and modern instrument practical protection of biodiversity, which is not in conflict with the forestry goals Prospective means of communication between the forestry service and the interests of nature conservation Marteloscop is attractive training method for students of forestry and environmental subjects, practical foresters and conservationists offers in the form of interactive games model and version-control scenarios for forest tending, assessing the ecological and economic value of forests. - Use of demonstration areas for training its own staff offer training students, workers, government and nature conservation.

In conclusion Possibilities of development Integrate +: Evaluation preference trees with respect to their environmental, land reclamation and stabilization functions of forests Thanks for your attention Václav Lidický The state enterprice Forests of the Czech republic
