If Everyone Was Like Me… Assembling …then we would only meet for 1 hour per week. …then we would never know if/when people were going to show up. Hebrews 10:24-25, “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” Acts 2:46, met together daily Matthew 6:33, seek first the kingdom …then we would be seeking even more times to meet together. …then we would know that all will be at every service if possibly able.

If Everyone Was Like Me… Working …then the church would eventually die because no one would be taught. …then the church would not meet because no one would do any work. If Everyone Was Like Me… Giving …then we wouldn’t have enough money to keep the lights on. …then the church would be very limited in what it could do. 1 Corinthians 16:1-2, “Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also: On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.” Acts 11:29, “Then the disciples, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren dwelling in Judea.” 2 Corinthians 9:7, “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” …then we would have to look for opportunities to do more work. …then we could support the preaching of the gospel across the world.

If Everyone Was Like Me… Studying …then we would rely on opinions because we won’t put in the work to study. …then we would have no idea if we were being taught false doctrine. Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.” Psalm 119:97, “Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.” Acts 17:11, “These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.” …then we would all be prepared for bible class and engaged in the study. …then we would all be stronger because we will be built up by God’s word.
