HIGGS BOSON—THE GOD PARTICLE

PARTICLE PHYSICS In particle physics , elementary particles and forces give rise to the world around us. The two main elementary particles which form the major constituent of matter are the LEPTONS and QUARKS. Quark+Quark=hadrons [protons&neutrons]. Quarks + Leptons=Fermions

STANDARD MODEL OF PARTICLE PHYSICS It is a theory concerning the weak, electromagnetic and strong interactions which mediate the dynamics of the known sub-atomic particles. It was developed in 19th century. Quarks and Leptons are the main components of the constituents of matter. The force carrier particles are the bundles of energy of a particular kind of field. There is one kind of field for every species of elementary particles.

THE Large hadron collider It is the world’s largest and highest energy particle accelerator. It is mainly based on proton—proton collisions. It was built by European Organization For Nuclear Research [CERN]. The first beam was circulated through the collider successfully on 10th of September 2008.

INDIAN SCIENTIST AT CERN

SATYENDRANATH BOSE PETER HIGGS

PETER HIGGS AND S N BOSE Peter Higgs and other group of scientists had predicted about this type of theory early in 1960s. But more earlier it was proposed by the shadowed Indian scientist S N BOSE. He made important contributions that changed how particle physics has been studied ever since Dr.Bose’s work on QM was by Einstein who extended it to the concept of Bose—Einstein condensate.

BOSE’S LETTER TO EINSTEIN Respected Master, I have ventured to send you the accompanying article for your perusal and opinion..I am anxious to know what you think of it. I do not know sufficient German to translate the paper. If you think the paper worth publication I shall be grateful if you arrange for its publication in Zeitschrift fur physic. Though a complete stranger to you, I do not feel any hesitation in making such a request because we are all your pupils though profiting only by your teachings though your writings. I do not know whether you still remember that somebody from Calcutta asked your permission to translate your papers on Relativity in English. You acceded to the request. The book has since been published. I was the one who translated your paper on Generalized Relativity. Yours Faithfully, S N BOSE.

HIGGS—BOSON an imagination

WHAT IS AN HIGGS BOSON? It is two separate words HIGGS and BOSON. HIGGS mainly comes along with the HIGGS MECHANISM and the hypothetical HIGGS FIELD. HIGGS MECHANISM is a kind of mass generation process , a process that gives mass to elementary particles. HIGGS FIELD is the field that has no mass and exists everywhere even in otherwise space and that particles acquire mass by interacting with the so called HIGGS FIELD.

HIGGS field and MECHANISM Higgs mechanism was proposed by Phillip Warren Anderson in 1962 In particle Physics, Higgs Mechanism is a kind of process that gives mass to elementary particles. Higgs Field is a possibly discovered invisible field of energy that exists throughout the entire universe. As a field they are endowed with the property of mass and it is called the Higgs Effect.

HIGGS—BOSON; An overview It is a proposed elementary particle in the standard model of particle physics. The Higgs particle is a boson , a type of a particle that allows multiple identical particles to exist in the same place in same quantum state It has no spin, electrical charge or colour charge. It is very unstable, decaying into other particles almost immediately.

Conclusion To conclude with, Higgs Boson has been a long focus of great scientific speculation. If it does exist, it can account for why everything in the universe has mass and forms a key component of everything. We will have to wait and watch whether scientists will rewrite the history of scientific era
