What do residents need to know?? National Patient Safety Goals: PASS OR FAIL! NPSG.01.01.01 – Patient ID- TWO identifiers Name and DOB ESPECIALLY FOR MEDS AND BLOOD TREATMENT!!!

What do residents need to know?? NPSG.01.03.01 – - Elimination of Transfusion Errors 2-person verification process to ensure match of blood/blood component to order 2-person verification to match patient to blood/blood component

What do residents need to know?? NPSG.02.03.01 – Improve Staff Communication Get important test results to the right staff person ON TIME Our policy? Results reported to the physician within one hour of result.
