PRESENTATION OF THIS PROJECT GOLD MINE OF MILLION ACRE LAND

BRIEF ABOUT PROGRAM FOR MASTER PLANNING QUETTA

IDENTIFY PROBLEMS OF CITY Current Problems of Transportation. Environment & Pollution in the City. Water Supply and Sewerage problem identification. Type of ownership \ Lease in the area, hence identify Kacchi Busti. Law & Order, Job condition in the City

STAKE HOLDERS & PROBLEMS A committee consists of Nazim, Naib Nazim, Minister & people from Upper & Lower house of Pakistan CS and others also in committee. Meetings held with these people to discuss problems of city as identified above. Role of people and their advice to solve these problems.

SURVEY Survey of people for their opinion about master planning. Physical survey using land survey and satellite imaging using SPARCO, Bird eye or Google earth imaging. Traffic survey identifying amount and movement of traffic. Social survey identify job conditions, poverty level and problem of people. Survey for available type and level of health facility i.e no & location of hospitals, clinics etc

SURVEY Survey for available school / college / university and level of education all over city. Survey for consumption of Gas, Electricity and telecommunication in the city. Available sport facilities, available any other facility it’s location, Available police station, Available NGO’s such as EDHI, Cheepa. Identify area under QDA premises and other government premises

RESULT FROM SURVEY AND REQUIRED FACILITY For example currently there are two 500 bed hospital in the city & it is required to have 4 hospital of at least 500 bed hospital, hence two more hospital of 500 beds are required. Calculation of all the facility based on survey.

SOURCE OF WATER SUPPLY ONE SOURCE Use Two Rivers. Make small Dams on two rivers to store water Supply it to the City. SECOND SOURCE Improve existing water supply Remove waste of water. THIRD SOURCE From remote river or storage facility.

SOURCE OF WATER SUPPLY WATER SUPPLY While the Indus valley would appear to have adequate quantities of water, the supply is being constantly eroded by the many demands. Alternative sources from the surrounding hills will have to be investigated including the River Hub catchment. An integrated approach should be adapted to include Karachi and Hyderabad under a regional policy. WATER SUPPLY – DESALINATION Water quality and quantity becoming an issue world wide, as a result alternative sources of supply are being investigated. Desalination plants are becoming more technologically advanced and more economical to construct and operate. SANITATION In addition to the use of traditional sewage treatment plants, reed beds can be employed to provide final treatment and also enhance the environment.

SOURCE OF POWER GENEATION POSSIBILITY OF Wind Farming at top of mountain as lot of air, used in UK. Solar Energy. Head of small dams to Generate Electricity. Solid waste to generate electricity used previously in UK to Generate electricity. Existing supply use and minimize waste.

SOURCE OF POWER GENEATION HYDRO ELECTRIC POWER Low Head – High Volume Systems TIDAL BARRAGE AND PUMPED HYDRO SCHEMES Low Head high Volume Hydroelectric dams on Canal and Rivers. Hydro Electric plant fitted on an existing river weir. Tidal Lagoon – Uses rising and falling tides to produce power. Pumped Hydro - Uses two lakes or a high level lake and the sea. RETROFITTING TURBINES TO AN EXISTING IRRIGATION DAM Existing irrigation dam on the White Nile 80 turbines producing 30MW with a maximum head of 5.5m

MASTER PLANNING THE CITY Use Saddar as Car free road only for pedestrian. Encroachment solution. Concept of Rib, where each RIB link to Seryab Road for easy entry exit to city. Godown storage to shift outside city. Bus \ Mass transit for City.
