Sec Ed Teacher Education Portfolio Student Instructional Guide **Please view the instructional guide as an animated slideshow** THREE IMPORTANT STEPS: STEP 1: CREATE your Portfolio. Slides 9 thru 20. STEP 2: PUBLISH your Portfolio. Slides 21 thru 25. STEP 3: SUBMIT your Portfolio’s web url as the assignment. Slides 26 thru 31.

Single Sign On via GWeb Info System for Students From the webpage my.gwu.edu Click gweb info system

Enter your GWID and PIN Then click Login

Click the Student Records and Registration Menu Tab Welcome to the WWW Information System! Last web access on 10/02/12 at 03:59 pm Click the Student Records and Registration Menu Tab

Click the TaskStream link

Click the LAT by TaskStream link … if an additional slide opens after clicking this link, please select the LAT platform

Please read the TaskStream User Agreement and click “Accept” to continue

Step 1: Create your Portfolio!

Create a Title For Your Portfolio Enter your portfolio title and then click Create New

Select a Custom Template: Select Custom Templates (designed by your learning community) and from the drop down menu, select the Teacher Education Portfolio Click Continue when done

Choose a Theme for Your Portfolio: Select your portfolio theme from the 28 options provided under the Style tab. *Note – themes can also be changed during the editing process

Choose a Portfolio Layout: Click Preview to view your new layout Select a Vertical or Horizontal layout Choose a Color to change the default color of your layout When done choosing a layout and/or color, click Apply to begin editing content or Cancel to select a different theme

Portfolio Template Overview

Select an area to begin adding content Select an action from the Add toolbar options below. (Most commonly used are Text & Image, Attachments, Videos, and Links)

Add Text & Image: You can place and resize your image here To Add An Image, click Choose File to attach an image saved on your desktop. Once uploaded, the file name will appear below To Add Text, begin typing in this area or copy and paste text to this area Click Save and Return when done

Add an Attachment: Add a Video: To attach a file saved on your desktop, click on Upload from Computer Add a Video: To upload a Video saved on our desktop, click on Browse When done uploading, click on Save and Return

Add a Web Link: To Add a New Web Link - Name the link and paste the web address under Select Link. Click Test to confirm it is working You can also add a link to an existing page within your portfolio by selecting a page from the drop down menu Click on Save and Return Click on Add Link when done

Adding Content Cont.: *Remember – you can click Preview to see what your portfolio looks like at any point To continue adding content to your portfolio, click on the sub-category within each heading and then Select an action from the Add toolbar options below. (Attachments, Videos, and Links)

Getting Ready to Publish: Once you have added content within each portfolio category and are ready to publish, click on the Publish/Share tab

Step 2: Publish your Portfolio Step 2: Publish your Portfolio! Publishing to the Web enables anyone to access your work from the Internet using the web address that you create. You may choose to limit access by creating a password. You can unpublish your work at any time.  Note: Any future changes will be automatically reflected in your published work.

Click on the Publish/Share tab

Publish Options: Create a Customized Web Address Create a Password or select No Password needed Click Publish when done

For Step 3 - click on the House Icon to get to the Taskstream homepage Published! For Step 3 - click on the House Icon to get to the Taskstream homepage **Remember to copy your portfolio url and password (if included) so you can submit the web link as your assignment for instructor evaluation in Taskstream

Once you have created your Teacher Education Portfolio, it will be listed under the Folios & Web Pages Tab

Step 3: Submitting Your Published Portfolio Web Link & Password

Your Taskstream Homepage Click on the Secondary Education Program link

1st Step in Adding your Portfolio Web Link Select the Teacher Education Portfolio Assessment And then… From the tool bar below, select ‘Links’

2nd Step in Adding Your Portfolio Web Link Name your link (this can be the same title as your portfolio) Paste your published portfolio’s url address and click Test to make sure the web address works Click Add Link & then Save and Return

**Final Step: Submit Work** Once you have added your web link, you must click on the Submit Work button to send the published portfolio to your instructor

Submit Work Confirmation Click Yes – Submit My Work A “work submitted” confirmation screen will pop up with a time and date stamp

CONGRATULATIONS!! YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY CREATED, PUBLISHED AND SUBMITTED YOUR TEACHER EDUCATOIN PORTFOLIO 
