THE PLANETS

Jupiter Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun and the largest in the solar system. It takes 12 years to orbit the sun. The immense volume of Jupiter could hold more than 1,300 earths

Saturn Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun and the second largest in the solar system. It takes 29.5 years to orbit the Sun. Saturn is the farthest planet from the Earth visible to the naked human eye.

Uranus Uranus is the seventh planet from the sun and the third largest planet in the solar system. It takes 84 years to orbit the sun. It became the first planet discovered with a telescope.

Neptune Neptune is the eighth planet from the sun. It is the fourth largest planet in the solar system. It takes 165 years to orbit the sun. Neptune’s rings consist of ice particles.

Earth Earth is the third planet from the sun. It is the fifth largest planet in the solar system. It takes one year to orbit the sun. It is the only planet known to have life on.

Venus Venus is the second planet from the sun. It is the sixth largest planet in our solar system. It takes 225 days to orbit the sun. It is the second brightest object in the sky.

Mars Mars is the fourth planet from the sun. It is the second smallest planet in our solar system. It takes 687 days to orbit the sun. Mars is known as the red planet. Aliens live on this planet.

Mercury It is our smallest planet in our solar system. It is the planet closet to the sun but not the hottest. It takes 88 days to orbit the sun. It is just a little bigger than earths moon.

Pluto Pluto is a dwarf planet, it is not really a planet its more like a star. It is smaller than any of the other planets. It takes 248 years to orbit the sun.
