MATHEW 25:1-13 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. Pastor John Oche Omale

What made them foolish, was their state of unpreparedness. Pastor John Oche Omale

1. The foolish virgins are the hypocrites in the church They have a form of godliness ( 2 Timothy 3:5 - Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.) Pastor John Oche Omale

They're wise in their own eyes ( Isaiah 5:21 - Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!) Pastor John Oche Omale

Proverbs 26:12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit Proverbs 26:12 Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him.

They had enough for now. They are only Concern only for this present life (1 Corinthians 15:19 - If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.)

3. They knew how the tradition works That the coming of groom is very unpredictable.

The groom engaged the bride goes away for about a year to get a house built and ready before coming back for the bride.

3. THEY SLUMBERED AND SLEPT. MEANING THEY GAVE UP.

Delay in fulfillment of promises will make a man weary (Proverbs 13:12 - Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.)

5. Weariness makes you vulnerable ( 2 Samuel 17:2 - And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only)

6. Weariness makes a man bitter (Job 10:1 - Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.)

Weariness makes a man tired (Isaiah 40:30 - Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall)

8. Knowing the promise maker gives you strength to wait (Isaiah 40:31 - But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.)

9. Knowing that promise maker is faithful will keep you prepared at all times

1 Thessalonians 5:24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

10. Knowing the integrity of the bridegroom will keep you awake

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

12. Extra oil is a state of preparedness

Psalms 23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Pastor John Oche Omale

13. Extra oil is a state of total dependence on Him Pastor John Oche Omale

Hebrews 1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Pastor John Oche Omale

Psalms 89:20-21 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him: 21 With whom my hand shall be established: mine arm also shall strengthen him. Pastor John Oche Omale
