IndustriALL Global UNION & H&M Global Framework Agreement –

GLOBAL FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT Signed November 3, 2015 POINTS: A GFA serves to protect the interests of workers across the operations of multinationals, setting the best standards for trade union rights. Expression of a joint committment between the signatories. Promotes decent work, freedom of association and collective bargaining in the supply chain. Global Framework Agreement also improves industrial relations and betters the relationship with company decision makers. Upon request, H&M will provide a list of all direct suppliers and subcontrators factories to IndustriALL Global Union.

OVERVIEW Signatories: IndustriALL Global Union, H&M and IF Metall. Covers 1.6 million workers in H&M’s global supply chain in their over 1,900 factories. Founded on the shared believe that well-structured industrial relations are an essential component of stable and sustainable social relations in production

OVERVIEW Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining Discrimination, diversity and equality Child labour and young workers Forced, bonded, prison and illegal labour Recognized employment Fair Living Wage and benefits Working hours Health and safety

KEY POINTS: The parties will jointly promote signing of collective agreements both at factory, company and industrial level between relevant social partners . H&M will actively use all its possible leverage to ensure that its direct suppliers respect human and trade union rights in the workplace. Workers’ representatives are not discriminated against and have access to carry out their representative functions in the workplace. The parties will provide training for both management and union representatives on employers’ responsibilities, workers’ rights and obligations, industrial relations, collective bargaining agreements and peaceful conflict resolution

KEY POINTS: IndustriALL & IF Metall together with affiliated unions, shall evaluate and provide capacity building to all trade unions and worker representatives present at H&M’s supplier & subcontractors. IndustriALL and IF Metall will undertake this work with trade unions, with the initial focus on increasing capacity to ensure implementation of the GFA.

Structure for Implementation Management-TU/ Workers Factory level National Monitoring Committees H&M- IndustriALL H&M- IndustriALL- IF Metall Development Committee Joint Industrial Relations Factory level - industrial relations promoted by the signatories. Disputes, at first, always should be dealt with by the social partners at factory level. NMC - New feature for a TGSL GFA - – set up in 5 countries in 2016. JIRDC - Planning and overseeing practical implementation of this Agreement at global level When necessary, provide support and guidance to the National Monitoring Committees

National Monitoring Committee Made up of both – IndustriALL (local affiliates) and H&M in county representatives Create, monitor and evaluate the national strategy Assist with the resolution of industrial relations issues and disputes.
