Investment and the Waste Hierarchy Sustainable Madness

Community R4C Ltd A community benefit society registered by the FCA We are a community-led initiative to provide environmental, social and economic benefits for Gloucestershire by treating our waste as a valuable resource rather than burning or burying it. Our first objective, Trash to Treasure, is to support the building of an advanced, commercially sustainable recycling plant which can turn more than 90% of the county’s waste into valuable materials for sale and re-use.

R4C Recycling Plant and Other Community R4C Environmental benefits Social benefits Economic benefits Define Deliver A New Model

A Sustainable Vision For Our Waste Mixed, Unsorted Waste is NOT Residual Waste Recyclates: c 50% source segregated + 23% auto- sorted at CR4C Manufactured high grade biomass fuel. Replaces virgin and fossil fuel Low Cost Resources Stimulate Local Economy Reduce! Reuse! R4C Recycling Plant Automatic recovery of recyclates and biomass fuel – just 8% to landfill

Net Impact on Gloucestershire – Every Year CO 2e saving, 132,000 tonnes pa, equivalent to 140,000 return transatlantic flights pa £10M pa saving in household waste disposal costs, 200 teachers 90,000 tonnes pa of metals, water, glass and plastics recycled Plastic alone equivalent to 1,000,000 recycled fleeces pa! 90,000 tonnes pa of renewable biomass fuel – enough to fuel 2 Muller (Stonehouse) sized plants in place of fossil fuel
