SOCIAL The Impacts of Historical Globalization

To what extent should contemporary society respond to the legacies of historical globalization? Chapter 6: Cultural Contact To what extent does cultural contact affect people? Chapter 7: Historical Globalization and Imperialism To what extent did historical globalization affect peoples’ lives? Chapter 8: Historical Origins and Contemporary Issues To what extent are contemporary societies affected by historical imperialism? Chapter 9 Imperialist Policies and Practices How well has Canada addressed the impacts of imperialism?

Why Study History? To get a better understanding of why the world operates the way it does, we have to look at events that happened in the past By reflecting on history, maybe we can learn to avoid repeating our mistakes That way we can concentrate on what works!

Lets Get some examples: Individually I want you to come up with at least 10 historical events that affected our culture, life style, our world. If you can come up with more that would be great! Try to rank them! What are your favourite historical events?
