OUR BLUE SCHOOL Grammar School of blessed Pavol Peter Gojdič Prešov – Slovakia

Why we do it There is only 1% of all the water on the earth we can drink. Nowadays we see a lot of floods. Often soil erosions. Excessive heat. Melting of the glacier. Rising global sea level. content/uploads/2013/02/Florida_with_20_meter_sea_level_rise.png

Purpose of the Project at our school Creation of the new teaching methods. Restoration of the relationship between man and water, or man and nature. Rain water will not be wasted, but the water will be regarded as a gift from nature.

Education and teaching methods New teaching methods focusing on climate changes and using rain water will be created. Education about climate changes will be implemented into other subjects. Results of the project will be published on our school website.

Implementation of the Project Rain water from the school roof will be being received into water tanks. Trees, flowers and lawn will be planted and, of course, we will use the rain water from water tanks to water them. Money will be saved as we will pay less for water. Other activities will be held to repair school green areas.

Educational activities about climate changes Information will be published on our school website. Competitions and meetings about climate changes will be organised for students, their parents and friends. Information will be published in the local media (newspapers, TV...). A funny educational video will be created and published on Facebook and Youtube. Some more acitivities will be prepared for general public.

Opening Conference of the Project 31 March 2015 at our school The speakers were invited from Slovak universities and they had interesting lectures. We invited students from other schools as well. We were looking for solutions of climate changes.

What can be changed Water cycle will be restored. Temperature will be stabilized. Floods will be reduced. Reduction of ground water will be prevented.

Thank you, for your time. Water is life! Pictures:
