Washington, D.C. Thursday, April 27 to Sunday, April 30, 2017  1 st Annual 8 th Grade Trip to Washington, D.C.  Integrates Humanities, Science, History and Language A Curriculums.  “Hands-On” learning experiences.  Past Parents, Students and Teachers offer very positive feedback.  Parents/Teachers Chaperone with a ratio of 1:3 – 1:5.  Every detail planned to ensure a fun, safe and highly educational experience.

Main Responsibilities  Be Energetic!  Keep pumping the kids up as they feed off your energy!  Guide your Group  Partner with other groups  Keep an eye on your group - Busy time of year for tourists and school groups  Explore!  Lots to see and do. See as much as you can! Tailor agenda to your group.

Itinerary  Be On-Time!  Arrive LMS 5:15 am for a 5:30am departure.  Leaving Washington, 11:30 am for a 7:30 pm arrival at LMS

Typical Tour Day

Packing List  Packing list sent out via and posted on school site.  Medication (prescription and non- prescription)  Doctor’s permission for staff to dispense any medication – OTC or prescription.  Must be in a Ziploc bag with student name and instructions to dispense - Must be in original packaging  Must be given to a LMS staff member before boarding the bus  Student specific medical situations will be shared with their chaperone

Packing List  Breakfast and Snacks for Bus Ride to D.C.  Students and chaperones need to pack breakfast, snack items and water bottle  Not Allowed  Energy drinks, energy shots, carbonated beverages, etc.  Items on the Bus  Pillow, jackets, books, blankets, sling back pack, electronics  Staff is not responsible for misplaced items.

Behavior Expectations  Behavior Contract  Representing Lakeshore Middle School – We hold our students to high standards  Respectful on tours, when visiting memorials, in hotel lobby, hallways and rooms and on the bus

Registration Checklist  Commitment Date – October 3, 2016  Commitment form posted on LMS home page  $150 deposit for each participant (students and chaperones). Payment online preferred.  Second Payment Due – November 28, 2016  Medical forms completed and sent into school  $150 payment for each participant. Payment online preferred.  Final Payment Due – February 3, 2017  $150 payment for each participant. Payment online preferred.  Single Payment Option Available - $450
