México y la América Central México Guatemala El Salvador Honduras Nicaragua Costa Rica Panamá

México D.F. (La Ciudad de México) Mexico still has many indigenous people who are still using their native language and practicing their culture just like before the Spanish came.

La Ciudad de Guatemala Guatemala comes from an ancient language and it was called “Place of Many Trees”…finding some shade in Guatemala shouldn’t be that hard. ;)

San Salvador El Salvador just recently adopted the US dollar about 10 years ago. It was the colón before.

Tegucigalpa Hondurans are often referred to as CATRACHO or CATRACHA (for the ladies) and it comes from an old Honduran General’s name.

Managua Nicaragua has two famous lakes that are surrounded by RICH RICH SOIL due to volcanoes in the past.

San José Costa Rica means “Rich Coast” and so it is. It is full of animals, beaches, and the economy is much better compared to the surrounding countries.

La Ciudad de Panamá At one time Panama and Colombia were joined together…but when “Nueva Granada” broke apart and become “Colombia.

La América del Sur Venezuela Colombia Ecuador Perú Bolivia Paraguay Chile Uruguay La Argentina

Caracas Venezuela is known for “Beauty Pageants.” Having one of the best records of having the most women win Mrs. Universe in the world. The women are often known as exotic. You can guarantee Mrs. Venezuela win always make it into top 10!

Bogotá Colombia has always been known to have major drug problems. This involves having political diversity, political falls, economic problems, and more.

Quito Ecuador is located RIGHT ON the ecuator. Wonder if it’s hot there? ;)

Lima Peru has ruins called “Machu Picchu” which are like ghost towns in the mountains. It’s almost like everyone just got up and walked away. Many people like to visit this place for sight-seeing.

La Paz (Sucre) Bolivia use to be a part of Peru and was known as “Upper Peru” and was even run by Peruvian government. My how the countries change over the years.

Asunción Paraguay used to be ruled by a series of dictators who practiced isolationist and protectionist.

Montevideo Uruguay is known for its high development and low levels of corruption.

Santiago Chile has very cold weather and also warm weather as well. It’s very diverse with temperature.

Buenos Aires Argentina is known for the dance “Tango” It’s a very popular dance.

Las Antillas España Cuba Puerto Rico La República Dominicana

La Habana Cuba is a communist country ran by a dictator. Since Fidel has stepped down, Cuba has lightened up a bit but not much.

Santo Domingo The Dominican Republic shares an island with Haiti. Within 5 miles you can tell a different of what country you are in due to D.R being highly developed and Haiti being a poor country.

San Juan Puerto Rico is ACTUALLY a part of the United States. They are not a state but a commonwealth and can freely travel back and forth without a passport.

Madrid España is considered a monarchy which means it has a king and a queen. España is the only Spanish speaking country in Europe.
