Husky Pride!!! Bringing the 4 PAW Points to Life at Heatherwood!

Let’s get our brains warmed up Name the 4 PAW Points – Pride and Respect – Personal Responsibility – Perseverance – Peacefulness

School Rules – 4B’s Be Responsible Be Respectful Be Safe Be Kind

November and December Focus: Respect How does respect: – Look? – Sound? – Feel?

Are You a Respectful Person? Do you treat others the way you want to be treated? Do you treat people with courtesy and dignity? Are you sensitive to other people’s feelings? Do you insult people or make fun of them? Do you ridicule or embarrass others? Do you dislike or make fun of people because of the color of their skin, the language they speak, or their personal beliefs?

If you answered “Yes” to any question, you are not being respectful Integrity= doing the right thing, even when nobody is watching You truly know if you are respectful, but so do others!

Have you ever felt like: EVERYONE is being mean? EVERYONE is a jerk? EVERYONE is treating you unfairly? Most people are respectful, if you are feeling like EVERYONE is being disrespectful, it is time to look in the mirror and ask yourself: – Am I truly being a respectful person?

Respect! Give it to get it!!! Pay it forward! _Y5J4&safe=active _Y5J4&safe=active

Divide into Small Groups What does it feel like to be respected? What does it feel like to be disrespected? Do you consider yourself to be a respectful person? How do you show respect to others? What are the benefits of treating others with respect? What does it mean to respect each other? What does it mean to respect yourself? What does it mean to respect your school? What are some ways you can show respect in the lunchroom? What are 3 ways you can show your teacher respect? What are 3 ways you can show your parents respect?

School-Wide Homework Every day between now and Thanksgiving, I want you to give someone new a sincere compliment! Tell someone why you appreciate them and why you are thankful for what they do! Pay it forward! If the person thanks you for being so kind, ask him/her to do the same for someone else! 394x21 days= 8274 acts of kindness and respect that will be paid forward to others 8274 x 2=16548, 8274 x 4 = acts of kindness

Let’s Review Last Month’s Lesson You are in control of your own work and behavior You can’t control other people’s behaviors, but you can decide whether or not you will allow them to disrespect you!

Bullying Bullying is using power on purpose to hurt another person’s body, feelings or friendships Bullying is… “Not allowed in our school!”

Remember our newest strategy to use to stop bullying! W5g&safe=active W5g&safe=active

Stop! Walk… Talk…

If you are the target of disrespect… 1.Say the word “STOP” and use the STOP Signal 2. CALMLY walk away 3. Talk to a responsible adult

If you witness disrespect… Don’t be a BYSTANDER!!! 1.Say the word “STOP” and use the STOP Signal 2. Encourage the student who is being shown disrespect to walk away with you 3. Say, “Let’s go talk to a responsible adult”

Stop! Walk… Talk…
