Where do I begin? Regularly Scheduled Series (RSS) Implementation – RSS implementation begins at the request of a needs assessment and disclosure form from the CME office at your Centura Health facility. – Once the completed needs assessment, and completed disclosure forms from the planning team is received in the CME office. The CME office staff reviews the information for compliance with the CME Mission Statement.  If the activity meets the CME mission it will be submitted to the CME committee for review and approval.  The CME Committee approves, requires modifications to, or disapproves the activity. The CME office staff will notify the planner in writing via . A notification requiring modifications and/or disapproval will include a statement of the reasons for the committee’s decision.  Once the CME committee grants full approval, the RSS can begin.

What are my responsibilities? Planners will be responsible for the implementation and management of the RSS. Planners are required to forward the following documents on a regular basis: – CME Yearly Evaluation documents (e.g., Director or planner review based on attendee evaluations) – Promotional items (e.g., flyers, newsletters, notices, brochures, posters, etc.) with appropriate accreditation statement – Evaluations and/or summaries, if applicable – Faculty and planner disclosure declarations for each person in control of content – Signed letters of agreement (LOAs) for commercial support, if applicable – Disclosure information as provided to learners about relevant financial relationships for all individuals in control of content – Any documented correspondence from speakers with regard to planning the RSS (e.g., letters and s received within the current reporting period) – Sign-in sheets, and cases lists with appropriate accreditation statement Credit may be withheld pending receipt of the above-mentioned documentation in the CME office.

What are the CME Department responsibilities? The CME office staff will the yearly assessment forms to planners to ensure that each RSS undergoes a regular planning process (i.e., once per year) that links educational needs, objectives and educational format with desired learning outcomes. – After the annual review of the RSS application and/or all monitoring data, recommendations for improvement of the RSS will be communicated in writing. The communication may be documented in notes, s, and/or written correspondence. The CME office will supply the following document templates: CME Needs Assessment Form; Faculty Disclosure Form; Case List (Case Conferences); Sign- in Sheet Template; Evaluation Template – Grand Rounds and other department rounds conduct evaluations per session. All series are evaluated in the same way except: Case Conferences - The evaluation process for case conferences is met through documentation of the case conclusion (i.e., a brief summary of the case treatment or practice recommendation for each case).
