Working through….. Respect and ASB Samantha McGrady Deputy Chief Executive HouseMark

Thank you to our launch sponsors!

What’s in the ASB Charter?  Seven Commitments:  Demonstrating leadership and strategic commitment  Providing an accessible and accountable service  Taking swift action to protect communities  Adopting a supportive approach to working with victims and witnesses  Encouraging individual and community responsibility  Having a clear focus on prevention and early intervention  Ensuring a value for money approach is embedded in the service  Supported by a series of building blocks based on sector good practice

How did we get here?  Government handover in January  Steering Group including landlords, tenants, TAROE, TPAS, NHF  Sector-wide survey – over 100 responses  Final Charter based on best of Respect Standard, Wales ASB Standard, KLOEs, HouseMark/SLCNG ASB accreditation criteria  Updated and modernised – in particular two new areas of focus are supporting victims and witnesses, and VFM  Continuous improvement is the aim  Focus on outcomes  Endorsed by tenants – on Steering Group and NTO input

How do I get hold of the ASB Charter?  Officially launched as of now!  Hard copies available here and on CIH, HouseMark and SLCNG exhibition stands  Electronic copy on CIH website  Links to the Charter from HouseMark and SLCNG websites

Signing up to the ASB Charter  It’s voluntary!  Self-assessment against the Commitments and Building Blocks  Not a ‘one size fits all’ – proportionality  Online sign up via CIH website  CIH will send you a certificate and logo to use  Independent, external accreditation available from HouseMark/SLCNG ASB Accreditation Service which now mirrors the Charter  Hear more about ASB at CIH stand (B114) - taster session this afternoon at 2pm

Thank you- any questions for the panel?
