 Increases after age 50…Average age 60  Obesity  White> Black incidence  Lynch Syndrome  Endometrial hyperplasia & diabetes  Tamoxifen  Radiation Therapy  Post-menopausal estrogens

 Predominately in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women (75%)  Hyperestrogen states associated risk (obesity, PCO); others: nulliparity, early menarch, late menopause  Unopposed estrogen-->hyperplasia  HRT must include a progestin  Tamoxifen use

 Endometrial hyperplasia (with atypia) carries up to 30% risk of transition into Endometrial cancer  Adenocarcinomas are most common (95%)  Usually presents in an early stage as abnormal uterine bleeding  Most common extra-colonic tumor in Lynch Syndrome

 Unusual Vaginal Spotting, Discharge or Bleeding  Dysuria  Dyspareunia  Pelvic pain

 Pelvic  Transvaginal Ultrasound  CT  MRI  *Dilatation & Curettage  *Endometrial Biopsy

 Surgery  Total Abdominal Hysterectomy is curative in most women  Radiation  Chemotherapy  Hormonal Therapy

 Predominately in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women (75%)  Hyperestrogen states associated risk (obesity, PCO)  Unopposed estrogen-->hyperplasia  HRT must include a progestin  Endometrial hyperplasia (with atypia) carries up to 30% risk of transition into Endometrial cancer  Tamoxifen use
