Riyaad-us-Saliheen Consistency in performing good deeds Taught by Br Wajdi Akkari Commentary of Shaikh Ibn Uthaymeen Lesson 38

"Has not the time come for the hearts of those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) to be affected by Allah's Reminder (this Qur'an), and that which has been revealed of the truth, lest they become as those who received the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] before (i.e., Jews and Christians), and the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened?'' (57:16) "And We sent `Isa (Jesus) - son of Maryam (Mary), and gave him the Injeel (Gospel). And We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him, compassion and mercy. But the monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them, but (they sought it) only to please Allah therewith, but that they did not observe it with the right observance.'' (57:27) "And be not like her who undoes the thread which she has spun, after it has become strong...'' (16:92) "And worship your Rabb until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e., death).'' (15:99) And there are Ahadith, one of them is narrated by `A'ishah (May Allah be pleased with her): The most beloved action to Allah's Apostle ( ﷺ ) was that whose doer did it continuously and regularly. Verses

`Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah ( ﷺ ) said, "Should anyone fall asleep at night and fail to recite his portion of the Qur'an, or a part of it, if he recites it between the Fajr prayer and the Zuhr prayer, it will be recorded for him as though he had recited it during the night''. [Muslim] This is also the case for the Witr Salah, it will be prayed as four as opposed to three, this is based on another narration. Hadith

`Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`as (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah ( ﷺ ) said to me, "O Abdullah! Do not be like so-and-so. He used to get up at night for optional prayer but abandoned it later.'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] Hadith

`A'ishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: When Messenger of Allah ( ﷺ ) missed the optional night Salah (Tahajjud) due to pain or any other reason, he would perform twelve Rak`ah during the day time. [Muslim] At night he would pray eleven Rak’ah, this is used as proof for making the missed Salah an even number Hadith

Riyaad-us-Saliheen Observing the Sunnah and the manners of its obedience Taught by Br Wajdi Akkari Commentary of Shaikh Ibn Uthaymeen Lesson 38

● What is intended is the way of the Prophet ﷺ. The way he was in his worship, character and transactions ● The Fuqahah, use the word Sunnah to describe a deed that is recommended that a person is rewarded for doing and not sinful for refraining from ● This is specific to Fuqahah, and is the cause of confusion because some confuse this terminology with the usage of the Sunnah of the Prophet ● One way to refute this idea; how to perform Salah is not in the Qur'an but rather it is in the Sunnah showing that there are obligatory actions in the Sunnah ● The Sunnah (main definition) is derived from; the prophets' ﷺ statements, actions and approval (it happened in his presence and he let it continue) Introduction

● It is mentioned in one Hadith that a certain Sahabi always used to recite Suratul Ikhlaas together with other Surah's in every Rak'ah he used to perform. On being asked the reason, he replied that he loved this Surah very much as it was a description of The Most Merciful. Upon this, Rasoolullah ( ﷺ ) said “The love for this Surah will admit you into Jannah.” ● There is no doubt that the Prophet ﷺ was sent forth by Allah with the guidance (beneficial knowledge) and true religion (righteous deeds). ● One would be unable to follow the Sunnah without knowledge of it, therefore it is obligatory to seek knowledge Introduction cont.

"And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad ( ﷺ )) gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it)". (59:7) "Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is only a Revelation that is revealed.'' (53:3,4) "Say (O Muhammad ( ﷺ ) to mankind): `If you (really) love Allah then follow me (i.e., accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur'an and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins". (3:31) "Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad ( ﷺ )) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes for (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day...'' (33:21) "But no, by your Rabb, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad ( ﷺ )) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission".
