Presentation transcript:

What is the most important thing : - in the world ? - in your life ?

New priorities by order of King Jesus.

Our life on earth is but a span. James 4: 14 You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away

Jesus warns us not to focus our life around a system that will fail. Matthew 6: 19 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.

Danger : Treasure will become a priority. Matthew 6: 21 – For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6: 24 No one can serve two master; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.

The bride of Christ cannot be the mistress of this world. James 4: 4 – You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore, whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. God is the one or He is none.

Command : “Do not worry.” Matthew 6: 25 For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

God is NOT saying don’t work. II Thessalonians 3: 10 For even when we were with you, we used to give this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either.

The main message of this section is “Trust God.” Matthew 6: 32 For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

God provides needs, not our wants. I Timothy 6: 6-8 B ut godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. 7 For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. 8 If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.

How does Satan blind minds? II Corinthians 4: 3-5 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Does “BUSY” mean : B eing U nder S atan’s Y oke ?

God has a purpose for your life which involves physical action. I Corinthians 6: 20 For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

I Peter 4: 11 Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever.

Jesus used Mary and Martha to teach us about priorities. Luke 10: But the Lord answered and said to her, " Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; 42 but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her."

We live in this world, but have only seen Heaven by faith. ( concrete –vs– abstract )

Focus on what we can do for Him today and don’t worry. Matthew 6: 34 So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. God is in control.

Worry is evidence of a lack of faith. “ Faith Deficiency Anemia ”

Success on this earth is more often an obstacle than a blessing. Mark 10: 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.

Jesus has commanded us : 1. Don’t trust in earthly treasures. 2. Don’t worry about our daily needs. 3. Make His priorities our priorities. 4. Don’t worry about our future.

Accomplish these commands is our lifestyle, not an event. We must include God and His church in conversation.
