Edina Kovács Beiing in cyber-identity

What is reality? What is the difference between virtual and real? How can we say it? (Using tools?) A letter or a radioshow is real or virtual? The „objective reality” is a cultural construction

Reality Theories Premodern: is an idea useful for the group? Modern: institution become the organizer of the mass ↔ the person become lonely „I ignore, therefore I am” Postmodern: free choice of values

Role, identity A century ago: there is a person, with his/her core, who fulfill their roles Moreno (cc. 70 years ago): the person is the sum of their roles, maybe there is no core Posztmodern: role and subject are in constant interaction, the identity is never completed (never finished)

„One man” groups Human ethology: the individuum begins to function as a one man group: negotiate, form beliefs – these are not integrated, „there is no system in the world”.

Communities/Groups Have common goal Interactions, change of information Have sense of community/group Real or virtual? Or both?

Virtual groups A member’s „cyber-me” from a pro ana site A modell at the New York Fashion Week

Thank you for your attention!
