Non-Business Electives 15 credit hours of non-business electives are required Up to 6 hours may be taken pass/fail These courses could include: MAPS courses Minor Foreign Languages Non-Business Certificates

Minimum Academic Preparation Standards Do you have MAPS deficiencies? Business MAPS requirements are slightly different than A&S and Engineering. Run a what-if degree audit for Business to see if you have any MAPS deficiencies. MAPS classes that fulfill geography and foreign language count as non-business electives for Leeds students. If a class required for MAPS overlaps with an A&S core requirement, business students can use one class to count for both requirements.

Business Core (BCOR) BCOR classes are the foundation of your business education. Business students are required to complete all of the BCOR classes. BCOR classes must be taken in a specific sequence and are prerequisites for other classes. BCOR 1010 – Intro to Business (3) BCOR 1020 – Business Statistics (3) BCOR 2000 – Accounting and Financial Analysis (4) BCOR 2200 – Introductory Finance (3) BCOR 2300 – Adding Value with Management (3) BCOR 2400 – Introduction to Marketing (3) BCOR 2500 – Introduction to Operations and Information Management (3) BCOR 3000 – Business Law (3) BCOR 3010 – Business Applications of Social Responsibility (3) Once admitted to Leeds, all remaining BCOR must be completed at CU.

Area of Emphasis You will choose from one of the following: –Accounting –Finance –Management (must choose a track) Human Resources Information Management Operation Management –Marketing Your Area of Emphasis courses must be completed at CU Boulder AFTER admission to the business school and you must have a C- or better in each course. Accounting, Finance and Marketing areas of emphasis take a minimum of 3 semesters to complete. Detailed information about each area of emphasis is available on our website or in printed form in the waiting area of the Undergraduate Student Services Office (KOBL S210).

Business Electives You will be required to complete at least 15 hours of business electives. Electives are a great opportunity to customize your degree. These courses could include: 2 nd Area of Emphasis Study Abroad Courses Area of Application or Certificate Any Leeds course offered for business students

Double Degree If you plan on keeping your current major and adding Business as a second degree: Business will become your primary college You must complete all requirements for both degrees to graduate A&S Core will overlap for most other colleges If you complete a double degree with engineering, 15 hours of business electives will be waived

Important Notes About Timeline Business classes are restricted to Leeds students, so you must wait until you are admitted to Leeds to register for BCOR classes. Pre-requisites can make it difficult to take many BCOR classes in one semester, so it is important to plan ahead and be flexible with course scheduling (especially in your first semester at Leeds). If you are able to take summer classes, you’ll be able to catch up on BCOR classes much faster. If you are admitted into Leeds after your first year, it is still possible to graduate on time.

Application Criteria Intra-university transfer students are considered based on a competitive University of Colorado grade point average and require, at minimum, successful completion of the following. Applications will not be accepted if any of the requirements are still in progress. 24 semester hours completed, 12 of which must be graded coursework at CU Boulder. Completion of the following four courses with a grade of B- or better: 1.Finite Math: MATH 1071, ECON 1078, College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, or a score of 60 or higher on the ALEKS math assessment test. 2. Calculus: MATH 1081, ECON 1088, OR an equivalent calculus course. NOTE: A 5-credit calculus class or two consecutive semesters of calculus will meet both math requirements and you must have a B- or better in all classes used to fulfill the math requirement. 3. Microeconomics (ECON 2010) 4. Macroeconomics (ECON 2020)

Application Criteria (Continued) Business GPA must be 2.00 or better (if you have taken any business classes) We do not admit students who have previously completed a 4-year degree in any field Admission is guaranteed with a 3.00 cumulative CU GPA, providing that all other admissions requirements have been met.

Application Process Applications are accepted year-round and will be reviewed once a month. However, the deadlines for admission prior to the registration period are October 1 st for Spring and March 1 st for Fall. We can’t guarantee the usual selection of courses for those who submit applications after this deadline. Only those applicants who have completed all of the requirements will be considered. Applications with pre- requisite courses in progress will not be considered. You will be notified of your status via CU .
