LANDFORM  Definition

LANDFORM  A place where you can find a ____________ is ___________________

Desert  A desert is a dry area where few plants grow.  A place in the U.S.A. where you can find this landform is in New Mexico.

Hills  Hills are raised (usually rounded parts) of the earth’s surface.  A place where you can find this landform is in Massachusetts.

Island  An island is a body of land completely surrounded by water.  A place in the U.S.A where you can find this landform is Hawaii.

Lake  A lake is a body of water completely surrounded by land.  A place where you can find a lake is in Michigan.

Mountain  A steeply raised mass of land much higher than the land around it.  A place where you can find a mountain is Mount Washington in New Hampshire

Plain  A plain is a large area of flat or nearly flat land.  A place where you can find a landform is Montana.

River  A river is a large stream that runs into a lake or another river.  A place where you can find a river is the Colorado.
