HOW TO PREPARE FOR NATURAL DISASTERS IN THE COMMUNITY Complete personal assessment Know community resources and assistance options Register with the ND Special Needs Registry (NDSNR) Create support network Make emergency info list Make medical info list Keep emergency supply kit (handout)

SERVICE ANIMALS & PETS Have a care plan for your service animal and pets: Buy stickers or put a sign on your doors & windows to alert responders of type of animals and where they are located. Keep current licenses and ID tags on animals Plan for caregiver in case of emergency and you can’t take pet with you. Be prepared to get along without help from service animal Prepare emergency supply kit for pets and service animals (handout)

DISABILITY INFORMATION CARDS Carry in wallet/purse Put as much or as little info on the card that you are comfortable with: Name Support person/emergency contact Service provider name and phone number Specific disability information Specific type of support needed
