Emergency Preparedness is important to know in case of any Disaster Emergency that were to happen in your area around you. Allows the community to become aware of any actions that need to be taken in protecting oneself from harm.

4 Awareness of the importance of being Prepared
If a fire were to start in the middle of the night in your home, would you know what to do? The importance of Emergency Preparedness is stressed in todays every day life due to the amount of Emergencies and Disasters that occur! Emergency Preparedness (provided by the American Red Cross ® can help you all learn how to be prepared, safe and calm when in any situation.

6 Emergency Preparedness Training
What most people do not realize is that when they are placed in a scenario when a disaster/emergency is happening– they do take the steps but not all to be prepared. Training in Emergency Preparedness can help keep the emergency situation more in tact. Training includes: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Automated External Defibrillator (AED) First Aid Child-care

7 Emergency Preparedness Prepping
Create a sustainable environment with the people around us to ensure that the communities are prepared for any emergency. Allow the individuals to become more self-reliant when an emergency strikes. Developing Coping Skills before an Emergency happens can allow you to hold the fort on the situation taking place. Developing seconds of everything creates a benefit in the future if some emergency were to take place.

8 Emergency Preparedness and Coping Skills
In Emergency Preparedness; Coping skills can be designed as a way for yourself and you loved ones to feel safe during an emergency. Although these coping skills are more for the younger generations, it is still ideal for the adults of the household to have knowledge of Coping Skills. Coping skills are techniques that can help your children feel safe during an emergency. Example: Breathing with Color.

9 Actions on how to be Prepared
One of the many ways to be prepared is to have a Home Escape Plan in case of an emergency. Keeping these items in an easy-carry Emergency Kit Bag will make things easier in the event of an Emergency. Other items include; Making a First Aid Kit (or purchasing one) Having all medical records copied for safekeeping Have extra food and water stored together Making a plan where you all can meet and stay
