Harassment/Discrimination: A Training for School Personnel Certified Staff Policy Classified Staff Policy Student Policy

Harassment/Discrimination Is unlawful behavior based on race, color, national origin, age, religion, sex, or disability It involves the intimidation by threats of or actual physical violence, creation of a climate of hostility or intimidation, or the use of language, conduct, or symbols that are commonly understood to convey hatred or prejudice

Guidelines Employees who believe they have been a victim of harassment/discrimination shall report it to the principal or Superintendent Complaints may also be reported to the District Title IX Coordinator The Superintendent shall initiate an investigation no later than three (3) working days following submission of a written complaint and a written report of the findings of the investigation within thirty (30) calendar days Employees who engage in harassment/discrimination shall be subject to disciplinary action, including, but not limited to, termination of employment

Prohibited Conduct Nicknames, slurs, stories, jokes, written materials, or pictures that are lewd, vulgar, or profane Unwanted touching, sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and spreading sexual rumors Belief that one must submit to sexual advances in order to keep their job Implied or overt threats of physical violence Destroying or damaging an individual’s property
