Women In Afghanistan By: Jade Howard

Role of women Some think women should take part in society while others do not. Due to religious views they believe women should do house chores and raise children instead of working outside. The women were better under the Communist than the Taliban, due to the restrictions they imposed on the women. "The Role of Women in Afghanistan. " Aamozgar RSS. N.p., n.d. Web. 03 Mar "Some of the Restrictions Imposed by Taliban in Afghanistan." Some of the Restrictions Imposed by Taliban in Afghanistan. N.p., n.d. Web. 03 Mar

Rights and Restrictions Restrictions: ban on women’s work outside of home, activity outside home, women dealing with shoe-keepers,being treated by male doctors, studying at schools, and the ban use of cosmetics. The Taliban mistreated the Afghanistan women.

Rights and restrictions(cont.) Rights: There were not many rights for the women in Afghanistan under the Taliban, mainly to stay inside the household and work there. "Some of the Restrictions Imposed by Taliban in Afghanistan." Some of the Restrictions Imposed by Taliban in Afghanistan. N.p., n.d. Web. 03 Mar

Situation of Afghan women before political changes They were in a dismal situation. Under-mind status. More rights taken away when the Taliban came into power in "Afghanistan: The Status of Women." (PRB 07-34E). N.p., n.d. Web. 04 Mar "The Role of Women in Afghanistan." Aamozgar RSS. N.p., n.d. Web. 03 Mar "Some of the Restrictions Imposed by Taliban in Afghanistan." Some of the Restrictions Imposed by Taliban in Afghanistan. N.p., n.d. Web. 03 Mar

After political changes Patterns of politics,security/military operations, heavily religious structures and practices, and violence still threaten girls even though women’s right’s and freedoms have entered. Religious elements still pose obstacles to reconstruction and development efforts.
