ACTIVITIES PLANNED FROM MONTH 15 – 24: WP4. A4.1 Establishing cooperation networks among all language professionals at partner Serbian universities so as to promote, enhance and organize various language support services WP4. A.4.2. Developing and adopting guidelines for providing language support to teaching staff (translation services and classes)

ACTIVITIES COMPLETED WITHIN WP4 (A.4.1 and A4.2): 1) The WP4 team and task leaders meeting held on March 14th, 2015 (University of Nis) 2) The questionnaire for establishing network of language professionals - designed and administrated 3) The questionnaires - collected and unified 4) The needs analysis questionnaire for institutions - designed and administrated 5) The questionnaires - collected 6) The training visit (capacity building in WP3) to Jagiellonian University (Krakow, Poland) held from 21st to 23rd May 2015

1)The meeting organized by UNI, Outcomes: -precise plans how to fulfill tasks -possible ways for tasks implementations - the nomination of core teams for each WP activity. General recommendations and conclusions: - make use of the existing solutions, institutional capacities and expertese from other similar projects -Cooperate closely with institution management for support and organization activities -Cooperate with EU partner universities (UMA,UJ, UNIBA and MUNI) and use their experience in this field.

2) Designing and administrating a questionnaire for language teachers and other language professionals -The questionnaire for language professionals (foreign language teachers at HEIs, translators /interpreters, international officers at Serbian universities, etc.) contains personal data and the area of interests within the profession -The design of questionnaire: -The 151 questionnaires were collected : BU: 47, UNS: 35, UNI: 24, UKG: 31, DUNP: 11, COT: 3 -The entire list of all l. professionals will be very soon presented in the form of web forum (AMRS)

3) Designing and administrating the needs analysis questionnaire for institutions -A needs analysis questionnaire related to the existing capacities and needs for language capacity building for teaching staff was designed and administrated to faculty managements. -The design of questionnaire: -The questionnaire from all RS partners were collected (70) and analyzed by task-leaders for each RS partner according to the given instructions -The collected questionnaires also include the task-leaders’ opinions on the existing capacities and their suggestions and recommendations

-The general conclusion on the entire existing capacities in RS partners is in progress -The collected data will serve as the basis for devising guidelines for providing language support to teaching staff in order to improve their language skills and competences and to improve translation services at Serbian universities in general

4) The training visit to Jagiellonian University - Among various topics, the most important:  The language support for incoming students (designing the Polish language courses of different levels)  Academic staff exchange on the basis of bi-literal agreements,  The motivation of academic staff to teach their courses in English,  Designing English language courses for administrative staff,  Suggestions for language training of academic staff

Outcomes: The presentations and discussions incubated a number of useful ideas which will be incorporated in future WP4 activities For ex: The experience of Jagiellonian Language centre in organizing language courses for administrative staff (in-company courses) will serve as a model for designing similar courses for HEA in RS.
