Grade 7 Chapter 4 Functions and Linear Equations

Section 4-6 Vocabulary Function - A relationship where one thing depends on another. Function Table – A table where you can organize the input numbers, output numbers, and the function rule. Linear Equation – An equation like y = 2x + 3. Its graph is a line.

Domain – The set of all possible input values in a relation or function (the x values of ordered pairs). Range – The set of all possible output values in a relation or function (the y values of ordered pairs).

Section 4-7 Vocabulary Slope – A number that tells how steep the line is. slope = change in y = rise change in x run ( The change in y with respect to the change in x)
