Place  When you enter Guadeloupe, if you look to the left you will see the beautiful roman catholic church called Basse-Terre Cathedral, Guadeloupe is 95% Roman Catholic. Music and dance are well liked here especially in the traditional celebration of Carnival. They are majorly influenced by African, French and Indian cultures with there clothes that are bright and colorful and they wear lots of jewelry. If you go to la pointe de la Grande Vigie, the sand is very fine and soft against your toes. The waters are very blue and the dolphins will swim along with you. Karukera means Island of Beautiful Waters, and that's what Guadeloupe is! Their architecture is very colorful, sometimes tall, and usually close together.

Tourism is what helps the economy of Guadeloupe. When you continue to walk around these islands you see banana trees, sugar fields, and people working and creating rum. These people are getting ready to export these goods to countries around the world. But, they also receive goods like fuels, vehicles, and clothing. Most of their goods that they receive are from France. The reason that France sends them the most goods is because France is the country that colonized Guadeloupe. They settled on this island when Christopher Columbus landed on it in 1493 and became the first European to land there. Guadeloupe is a department of France.
