Making Inferences

Can You Infer Where I am? Who I am? What I Am?

Can you infer where I am? I hear a loud “thwack” as the ball leaves the park and the crowd roars with cheers! I smell hot dogs and peanuts. I see a mascot. Where am I? Answer: I’m at a baseball game.

Can you infer who I am? I was the president during the Civil War. I was the first president to be assassinated. I was the 16th president. I had am on the 5 dollar bill. Who am I? Answer: I am Abraham Lincoln.

Can you infer what I am? I am a type of fruit that is red, yellow, or green. I grow on trees. I have a stem and small seeds inside. Snow White ate me and became poisoned. What am I? Answer: I am an apple.

Can you infer where I am? I hear screaming. My stomach feels funny. You can see my hair blowing and my hands are in the air. I’m feeling excited. Where am I? Answer: I am on a roller coaster.

Can you infer who I am? I fought for the rights of African Americans. I gave a famous speech called “I have a dream.” A holiday named in my honor is celebrated in January. Who am I? Answer: I am Martin Luther King, Jr.

Can you infer what I am? I am black and white. I live half of my life on land and half in the ocean. I am a flightless bird. I live in Antarctica. I balance my egg on my feet and keep it under my belly. What am I ? Answer: I am a penguin.
