“See No Beauty, Hear No Beauty” Isaiah 53

1. Christ’s Beauty Is Deep (1-2)

Even after Jesus had done all these miraculous signs in their presence, they still would not believe in him. This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: "Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” John 12:37-38

HE WAS: Afflicted b/c of our Infirmities & Sorrows Pierced b/c of our Transgressions Crushed b/c of our Iniquities WE ARE: Given Peace b/c of His Punishment Healed b/c of His Wounds

O LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. For your arrows have pierced me, and your hand has come down upon me. Because of your wrath there is no health in my body; my bones have no soundness because of my sin. My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear. Psalm 38:1-4

WE ARE: The REBELLIOUS Sheep HE IS: The SUBMISSIVE SACRIFICIAL Lamb  Christ’s REJECTION Brought Us REDEMPTION! 

3. Christ’s Beauty Is Rejected (6-9)
